But my theory is all the dudes had to take their chicks to see Pitch Perfect 2 to appease them. Hopefully Mad Max will do better next weekend.
Actually, I wonder if that’s a thing? Has a major movie release (not counting indie movie sand stuff here) ever done better it’s second weekend than it’s first?

It didn’t do bad though. $44mil is fine, and it made more in one weekend than the last mad max made in its entire run.

Oh, I agree, I don’t think it’s awful. But I would have guessed it would have done a bit better. There’s still time, I know a lot of people who either had plans this weekend (like myself) or were just sitting the fence on it. I think it will pick up steam.

Nah, I wouldn’t expect much more. R-Rated cult action film? I bet the studio is ecstatic at the big opening and great critical reception

I’m not at all disappointed with how Mad Max did. I am however very disappointed that Pitch Perfect 2 was #1 at anything other than being terrible

Eh, it's a musical comedy. Could be worse.
